Kristie uses one of our Newmarket offices in a very different way to most people, turning it into a beauty salon, where clients can get a one-to-one experience. Here’s her story.

Kristie’s love of art and creativity led to her career beginning as a freelance makeup artist, which was the perfect pathway into working in the advertising industry. Kristie’s career began in television and advertising, with her doing the make-up for the adverts for companies such as Panasonic, Curry’s PC World and Samsung. Along with this, she works as the make-up artist covering East Anglia for newspapers such as The Daily Mail. 

Her love for nails and nail art led her to do a course training and qualifying with The Gel Bottle in London,  she started working from home and after having two babies she now specialises in nail art and BIAB (Builder in a bottle). Kristie also continues her make-up services with natural, sophisticated bridal make-up being one of her specialties. 

Beginning her business from her home, this worked for her for a couple of years, up until she had her two children. The arrival of her second child made her realise that she wanted to have some separation between home life and work life. 

This is where her journey with Cinch Self Storage Newmarket began …

Office space into beauty salon

Realising she needed a space to work but not wanting to go into a traditional salon, Kristie began looking at office spaces.

As luck would have it, the offices at our Newmarket facility had just opened and Kristie was one of the first people to go and look at them.

“I was so lucky because I was one of the first people to look at them so I was able to get one of the bigger office spaces which was close to the stairs, making it easier for my clients to find me.” 

With her office chosen and the contracts signed, Kristie began making it her own, turning it from regular office to beauty salon. You can see the amazing results on her Instagram. 

Perfect for her, perfect for her clients … 

As soon as Kristie went in to look at the offices we had available in Newmarket, she knew she had made the right choice.

“I went to meet Gosia and she showed me around and it was perfect for me.”

Importantly, it has also proven to be perfect for her clients with them all loving the privacy and one-to-one experience they get at Kristie’s office. 

“A lot of my clients come to me for privacy because they don’t like the salon experience where everyone can hear your business. A lot of them have told me that they like it because it’s a one-on-one experience.”

… and perfect location

As with so many of our business customers, location is crucial for them and their business and this is the same for Kristie with the added bonus that her clients have somewhere to park, for free, whilst they are at their appointment. 

“The location is perfect as it’s not too far from the high street but it’s great because there’s so much parking available at Cinch Self Storage.”

“I love them. At Christmas, I walked into my office and there was a bottle of wine, chocolate and Christmas cards. They are so lovely. If I have a spare ten minutes, I often go down stairs and have a chat with them because they are like friends. They’re lovely and really helpful. I don’t have a bad thing to say about them.”
