Sinead Mussell, the founder of Get Eco Clean, is on a mission to improve the environment by creating better cleaning techniques, which are equally effective as traditional methods, using environmentally friendly products and sustainable equipment. She is very passionate about changing the way that we are all brought up to believe that we need harsh chemicals to make anything clean. 

With her business, Get Eco Clean, she provides cleaning services, both domestic and commercial within the Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire area. Finding the right eco-friendly products took years of work and research as there is a lot of ‘greenwashing’ happening right now, with lots of products not being nearly as environmentally friendly as they claim to be. Currently, Sinead uses products by companies Neat and Bio-D which are all refillable, using minimal plastic. This means not only are the products themselves not harmful to the environment, it also means that, Get Eco Clean has minimal waste. Everything is either refilled or recycled.

Providing The Perfect Space

With a cleaning company, there is always going to be a lot of equipment and cleaning products that need to be stored in a safe space. Sinead does not have this space at home so she found her ideal space at Cinch Self Storage Huntingdon.

“At home, I don’t have a garage or any outbuildings and with cleaning comes a lot of hoovers, carpet cleaners, steam cleaners and all the refillable products which come in 5 to 10 litre bottles. I like to buy them in bulk, store them within the storage unit and then, once a week, come and refill my small bottle. If I’m doing a deep clean, like an end of tenancy, I’ll need to pick up certain equipment too, rather than just the standard weekly clean stuff. So, there’s a lot of cleaning equipment within my unit at the minute!”

The unit Sinead picked is also perfect for storing all her cleaning equipment and supplies because she chose one that was a good shape, allowing everything to fit perfectly within it.

“The unit I have chosen is a good square shape so everything fits in it quite nicely.”

The Perfect Space In The Perfect Location

Our Huntingdon store was recommended to Sinead by her father, who already has a unit in the store, so choosing to use our storage was a no brainer for Sinead, particularly as it is located in such a convenient location.

“The location is ideal. You’re just around the corner so the location means you are only a 30 second drive away.”

Convenient Access 

Sinead has also found our convenient access to be a great asset when it comes to using Cinch Self Storage Huntingdon. 

“The fact that I can come and go, no matter what time of day, is very convenient for me.”

Our office hours at our Huntingdon store are 8.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm on Saturday and 10am to 2pm on Sundays. We also offer extended opening hours at our Huntingdon store. These are 6am to 11pm, Monday through to Sunday. 

Lights and Safety

A big reason for Sinead choosing to use Cinch Self Storage Huntingdon is the fact that we have lights that come on when you are in your unit.

“You have the lights that come on. It sounds like such a small thing but, because they come on, you can see inside your unit. It’s great when I’m refilling stuff because I wouldn’t be able to refill the bottle and hold a light. It is very convenient.”

Our lights also stop the store from feeling isolated and adds an extra layer of security. Security is also very important to Sinead as all her business equipment and supplies are within her unit and she has found an excellent level of security with us. 

“Security is very important and it is definitely there [at Cinch Self Storage Huntingdon]. You’ve got the gates which you can’t get through unless you have your code. I like that there is a member of staff who will come and check that it is me. I know that the stock I hold is safe. It is probably safer than if I had it in a garage next to my house because of all the CCTV and alarms.”

Sinead is very passionate about getting the message across that you do not need harsh chemicals in order to clean and she has plans to spread this message by growing her eco empire.

“I am just going to keep going and keep trying to change the view that we need harsh chemicals to clean because really all you need is a very non-harmful product. It does exactly the same job. We are helping the environment, we are helping the ecosystem and we aren’t adding to landfill.”
