What Size Storage Unit Do You Need?
One of the first factors you need to consider when looking for storage is what size unit you need. It is possible to work this out for yourself by measuring all of the items you want to store and then combining them together.
Clearly it’s easier to do this if everything is in neatly stacked boxes, but this isn’t always the case so the below information will give you an idea of what can be stored within different sized units:
- 15 sq ft (large wardrobe) – 20-30 boxes, seasonal items, sports equipment
- 25 sq ft (small shed) – Studio flat contents, small office clearout
- 50 sq ft (transit van) – 1-bed flat contents, small business inventory
- 75 sq ft (large van) – 2-bed flat contents, tradespeople tools & materials
- 100 sq ft (single garage) – 3-bed house contents, e-commerce stock
- 150+ sq ft (double garage) – 4-bed house, business inventory, pallet storage

Choosing a Secure Storage Facility in Enfield
When it comes to choosing a storage facility, it is really important that you find one that offers you the access you need whilst remaining secure and this is where we always score highly in customer reviews. Within this section, we will look at what you should be on the lookout for and what our self storage facility in Enfield has to offer.
Security Checklist
When it comes to finding a secure storage facility, you should be looking out for:
- 24/7 CCTV surveillance with recording retention
- Individual unit alarms
- PIN code access control to enable customer-only entry with all access logged
- Fire and smoke detection systems
- Perimeter security and well-lit premises
At our Enfield facility, all of our units are fitted with individual alarms and the facility is protected throughout with smoke and fire detectors. There is 24/7 monitored CCTV surveillance that covers the entire Enfield facility. Along with this, we have pin-code access. Each of our customers is given a unique pin-code which will give them access to their unit whilst keeping everyone else’s safe and secure.
Access Considerations
It is important to know that you can have access to your unit at convenient times, throughout the week. Having spoken with many of our current customers this is a critical factor that plays a big part in their decision as to where to store their items.
At our Enfield facility, we offer both standard access hours and extended access hours, allowing you convenient access when you need it. These hours operate as follows:
- Standard hours when our team are on site
- Extended access hours available when you can gain access using your pin code
As well as offering extended access hours, we also have units that have drive up access making it easier for you to pack and unpack your unit. We have loading bays and free trolleys, all of which make accessing your unit much easier.
Red Flags To Avoid
With storage rental contracts, there are some red flags that you should avoid. This include:
- Long minimum stays
- Excessive admin fees
- Mandatory insurance at high rates
At Cinch Storage Enfield, we have no minimum stay requirements and our rental contracts are entirely flexible allowing you control over how long your store for and how much storage space your take. We do not have admin fees and you can choose exactly how much StoreProtect is needed to protect the belongings you store with us.
Extras At Cinch Storage Enfield
All storage facilities are different and our Enfield facility offers many things that cannot be found at our local competitors.
One significant advantage we have over other self storage providers in the Enfield area is that we offer offices as well as storage space.
This combination can be particularly advantageous for many of our business storage customers, especially those in e-commerce or D2C consumer brands because they can work from their office then pop out to their units when they need to dispatch goods.
We’re also just over the road from the Evri delivery depot, so you can be sure that you’ll never miss a drop-off deadline again!
Our Enfield team is also happy to accept deliveries on your behalf so you can be in when you’re out. This, again, has proven to be a big help to our business customers.
