Be organised

As soon as you know you are officially moving, begin by making a list of everything you need to do and create a timeframe of when you need to do it all.

And anything you can begin doing straight away, do it! Future you will be so happy you took these steps and it will help your move go so much more smoothly.

Start packing nice and early

Another thing to start doing early is packing. If you start nice and early you can break it down into smaller packing sessions so it isn’t such a huge task.

You can do this by dividing the packing into rooms.

Decide what needs doing before you fully move in

Do you simply need to re-decorate to make the house your own? Or is the house in need of some bigger improvements?

It’s important that you decide this before unpacking as leaving your belongings in boxes will keep everything safer.

If it’s going to be quite a big job, you could look into self storage as this will allow you to do all your improvements whilst your belongings are 100% safe.

Have some essentials boxes

Once you have reached moving day it is really important to have some essentials that you are put in a place where you can unpack them first.

These essentials include things such as the kettle, a couple of mugs, tea, milk and chargers.

It is also important to know where you bedding is so you can have your bed made up first. After this is done you can take your time unpacking all the less essential items.

Explore your new home

Doing this will also allow you to have some breaks in which you can explore your new home of Newmarket.

You can try some of the amazing restaurants and pubs they have on offer. Or you could for a nice wander down the high street and see all it has to offer.

Or you could have a day at the races as Newmarket is, of course, the birthplace of horse racing.

No matter how you choose to explore your new home, if you are moving house Newmarket you are in for an amazing new life and home.
