Sugar Coated Sweets & Treats is an online sweet shop where you can buy party favours – sweet cups, party cups, sweet cones, sweet kebabs and much more. These prove to be very popular with people with young children but Vicky also works with a lot of corporate business, providing letterboxes mixes and smores boxes to some hotels across the UK. 

Vicky began Sugar Coated Sweets & Treats because she wanted something of her own. She looked at the market to see what was already out there and found that there was not much in this area so Sugar Coated Sweets & Treats began. 

A Family Tradition Entering The Modern World 

Vicky has some family history in this area as both of her grandparents owned sweet shops in London so starting Sugar Coated Sweets & Treats was her way of carrying on a family tradition in a more modern way. The business has continued to be a family affair as her husband, Terrence, helps with the SEO of the business website.

Like many people who start their own business, Vicky’s started from her dining room table but she soon found that she was running out of room. This is how her search for a bigger space began and how she ended up joining us at our Huntingdon store. 

“I was working from my dining room and it was getting a little crazy. I started to look for a bigger space and I put out a call on Facebook. Someone on there told me about Cinch Self Storage Huntingdon. I came to have a look and the space was perfect. I moved in within the week.”

To make sure her business is up to the hygiene standards, having a sink within her new space was really important. We were able to provide her with a storage unit that met this requirement.

“For the storage unit itself, I needed to have a sink for hygiene reasons so that was really handy that I had one in my storage unit.”

“Definitely security. It feels very safe which is really good.”

Ideal Location 

The location of our Huntingdon store has proven to be ideal for Vicky. It is not far from where she lives and it is also a central point between her home and her other job as a cafe manager. 

“The location is really handy. I live in Hertford so it’s not far. And it is in-between my other job as well so I pass it on a daily basis so, if I just need to pop in and grab something or need to do a quick order, it’s really handy for me.” 

Excellent Team 

Vicky has found that our Huntingdon team provides her with excellent customer service and that they are all very supportive of her business. 

“Nav, Rosie and Alison are always really helpful. They will take deliveries in for me and let me leave stuff for people to collect. Nothing is too much trouble and I always feel like they really support my business and champion it which is really nice.”

With Christmas just around the corner, Vicky is getting her sweet shop ready. Many of her items will be having a Christmas makeover, ready for this new season. And she will have many Christmas treats such as candy canes, calendars and hot chocolate kits.
