Malcolm Modele, founder of Nine Live Studios, has had a varied and illustrious career. Now, he is beginning a new chapter with the opening of Nine Live Studios. Here, we will hear his story, how Nine Live Studios began and how Cinch Self Storage Brentwood has helped.
Nine Live Studios is a dry hire podcast studio and photography studio that is located within one of our offices in our Brentwood facility. Founded by Malcom Modele, an actor, stunt precision driver and filmmaker with a vast amount of knowledge and a large amount of high-spec equipment, as a way to utilise all the equipment he has accumulated over the years and to allow people to create podcast in a perfect, cinematic environment with high-spec, top quality equipment.
Being an actor and within the film industry, Malcolm meets and is connected to many people in need of headshots which is why he also chose to create a photography studio alongside the dry hire podcast studio.
Malcolm also works with a lot of brands in the film industry, including Digital Photo who create a number of different pieces of equipment for the camera world. Malcolm is one of their ambassadors and UK inspectors, promoting and giving feedback on their equipment. Nine Live Studios acts as a showroom for their equipment, alongside being a podcast and photography studio.
The History Of Nine Live Studios
To tell the history of Nine Live Studios, we need to delve into the history of Malcom Modele. Malcolm’s career has many different branches, starting with time in the military and then, nearly thirteen years ago, moving into the film industry as an actor, stunt precision driver and filmmaker.
His time in the military helped with aspects of this new career such as the precision driving and stunt oriented areas like close call combat and being a weapons specialist. Malcolm has worked with Marvel, Star Wars and on Apple Tv+’s Slow Horses, starring Gary Oldman, as a stunt precision driver.
As an actor, he has been in theatre productions, Holby City, Eastenders and has a starring role, alongside Martin Kemp, in new film Doctor Plague, due out in late 2025.
Behind the scenes as a filmmaker and steadicam operator, Malcolm has created music videos for the likes of Sam Fender and Ben Howard and worked on Netflix productions and Bollywood films.
All this experience and vast amounts of equipment accumulated into the idea for Nine Live Studios.
Malcolm had been helping people to make podcasts before, working with Visa Cash App and AON, but he always took his equipment to the person’s home or facility. This sometimes proved to be difficult because the setting of their home was not aesthetically what they were looking for. And so the idea for Nine Live Studios began to form – to create a cinematic environment so they could create high-end podcasts with top-spec kit.
How Cinch Self Storage Brentwood Has Helped
Malcolm had already created podcasts at people’s homes and facilities and found that sometimes they were lacking when it came to the setting. He had taken headshots in his home and found it to not be the right environment for him, wanting a separation between home and work.
He looked for a space to set up Nine Live Studio for six months but always found that facilities fell short in some areas.
“I have to have multiple boxes ticked when I step into something. It can’t just be the right location. It has to be the right amenities, the right layout, the right staff working there. I have a lot of expensive equipment in the studio and I need to feel safe and at ease at night knowing it’s a ten minute walk from my house and it’s not accessible to other people.”
Malcolm came across Cinch Self Storage Brentwood quite by chance whilst out on a walk. He googled the facility and found that we offer both storage spaces and office spaces. He had not found any other facilities that offered both storage and office spaces. Cinch Self Storage Brentwood seemed to tick all of the boxes so he went into the store and chatted with the team.
“I spoke with Daniel and it all seemed great. It seemed like it [Cinch Self Storage Brentwood] fit and it seemed like Daniel really cared.”
Upon experiencing some issues before moving in with his access code, a leak and some painting issues, Malcolm was able to see the level of which our Brentwood team cared which proved to seal the deal with him continuing to run Nine Live Studios from one of our offices.
“I had some issues when moving in. Daniel and Graham were really apologetic and empathetic and this is why I’m not bothered about the issues. I have a great facility that works for what I want it to and more. It’s got storage and it is five minutes from my house and ten minutes from the Elizabeth line. And then there’s the people who run the facility and the company ethos. It just seems like I can have any problems and they will bend over backwards to get it sorted, as soon as possible.”
What Is Next For Malcolm And Nine Live Studios?
As you can imagine from all that he has already accomplished in this career, Malcolm has a busy year ahead. He has the release of the film Doctor Plague, in which he has a starring role, in late 2025.
But, over the last year, he has added to his list of accomplishments by becoming a racing driver. In 2025, he will be racing at Le Man. This new path has sparked an idea for a podcast of his own in which he and a fellow racing driver and entrepreneur friend will talk about navigating through entrepreneur life, taking on expensive hobbies, like racing, and being able to fund them through work and entrepreneurial endeavours.
Nine Live Studios will be offering high quality headshots and cinematic podcasts to clients. To find out more about working with Nine Live Studios, please visit their Instagram.
