Amenities 

There is a lot for Swindon residents to do around the town. The town centre has a fully pedestrianised high street which features a huge range of independent shops and well known retailers. There is also a weekly market held on Thursdays and Saturdays, where local suppliers sell their goods. In the former railway engineering complex, you will now find a McArthurGlen Designer Outlet.

Along with the shopping, there are many dining options to choose from. You can find both independent cafes and high-end restaurants in Swindon 

If you are a lover of the great outdoors, Swindon has many outdoor spaces and green parks, where you can go for a walk, take in the natural world or have a picnic.

Events

Swindon holds many events and festivals throughout the year. These include the Swindon Festival Of Literature, the Cheese and Chilli Festival and the MFor music festival.

Schools 

Swindon has a strong education system with 85 primary schools and 20 secondary schools. The quality of education is generally high across most of these schools, with 6 primary schools receiving an Outstanding Ofsted rating and 51 receiving a Good rating.

Transport 

Swindon has become quite the transport hub over the years. It is home to the infamous ‘Magic Roundabout’ which is made up of 6 interconnecting roundabouts. If this sounds a little overwhelming, the town is also connected by two junctions and the M4 motorway. These connect the town to South Wales and London. 

Unsurprisingly as it is an old railway town, Swindon also has a railway station on the Great Western Main Line, which has regular trains to London, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bristol, and Cardiff. 

There are also many buses that will take you around town and to places in the surrounding area.

In our opinion, the answer is yes. It has a lot of things you can do no matter what you enjoy. There are many places to go shopping, eating and places where you can enjoy the great outdoors. There are also many events and festivals throughout the year. 

It is well connected via its transport links and it has many excellent schools so it is a great place to live for families.
